Tory By Election Blunder. They Can’t Run a Tap, Let Alone the Country

On the day the Tories appeal to the country to “Vote for Change” via a glitzy Manifesto launch in London, it turns out that if you are a resident of Willerby and Kirk Ella, this opportunity will be denied to you in the vital East Riding Council By Election to be held on the same day as the General Election, May 6th.

Labour Party Candidate for Willerby and Kirk Ella, Josh Newlove said; “Whilst the Tories are in London launching their Manifesto for Government they can’t even organise themselves to field a candidate in a seat they hold on the Local Council. This either means they are so complacent that they have forgotten about representing the people they claim to really care about, or they are just plain disorganised. On this evidence people really need to decide if they can trust the Tories with the tiller of power when they can’t even remember to complete a simple task for a council they run and in the Parliamentary seat of a senior Conservative grandee.”

Mr. Newlove was unveiled to the Media last week as Labour’s candidate and is running his campaign on specific local issues such as why the Council has turned down Government cash to provide free swimming for local residents, and especially on making the Tory Council accountable to the tax payers, something he feels the Lib Dem Opposition have singularly failed to do.
