Danny Marten: “We Challenge David Davis to Come Clean About Climate Change”

Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Haltemprice and Howden today called on David Davis to “let us know where you really stand on human activity and its impact Global Warming”.

One of Danny Marten’s Election Pledges for the East Yorkshire constituency is to, “Protect the Environment”.

Mr. Marten 23, said, “All the scientific evidence points to CO2 emissions resulting from human activity being a major factor driving Global Warming and if elected I will be lobbying hard to make sure that the UK strives to cut emissions to help deal with the consequences for our local area from more extreme weather events. We need action and I call on Mr. Davis to back the statements in the Conservative Manifesto that high light the issue”.

“David Davis is on record as saying the following in a letter to a constituent, shown to the local Labour Party Press Office, as recently as October last year; I will be entirely frank with you and tell you I am a sceptic on our ability to halt climate change by reducing CO2 emissions”.

Mr. Marten continued, “David Cameron tells us to “Vote Blue to get Green” and yet one of his senior Party Candidates is flying in the face of his own Party policy. What other issues does David Davis disagree with concerning Conservative Party Policy? I would love to ask him at the Churches Together Hustings event this Sunday but he will not be turning up which is disappointing for everyone in the area who cares about accountable democratic politics”.
