Keith Hunter Welcomes John Prescott to the Humberside Police and Crime Commissioners Race

Ex Police Divisional Commander Keith Hunter threw his hat into the ring in November 2011, seeking the Labour nomination. He welcomes John Prescott’s entry into the race.

“ I think Lord Prescott’s entry into the race to secure the Labour nomination will bring a welcome spotlight on what so far has been a subject that has not attracted too much publicity”, Keith Hunter told the media this morning as John Prescott’s announcement hit the airwaves.

Keith Hunter oversaw a 40% reduction in crime during his time as Divisional Commander in Hull and has put himself forward as a fresh alternative to career politicians.

Mr. Hunter believes he would offer the public someone who has an unchallengeable record of delivering crime reduction, tackling criminals and improving neighbourhoods across the whole Humberside Police area; someone who understands the hugely complex issues of national, regional and local policing; someone who will appeal to the thinking voter because he won’t run a campaign based on sound bites but a smart approach to reducing crime; and someone who can be trusted to manage the £160 million pound budget in the interests of the whole of the Humberside Police area.

The Labour Party in the area is looking forward to holding Hustings events for members and looks forward to a high quality debate on this vital issue for all residents of Humberside.
