“We Need to Talk About the Labour Party”. An Unofficial Meeting by the Grassroots Sat 17th August

PeopleThere are less than two years to go before we have to put our programme for Government before the country. What are the voters telling us? What should we be saying to the people in our local community to give them hope that things can be different and better if we elect a Labour Government?

What are our hopes and aspirations for the Labour Party and the direction we should be taking?

Come and join an unofficial meeting of local the Labour Party grass roots. Saturday 17th August 11am Artlink Centre 87 Princes Avenue, HU5 3QP

This meeting has been organised by ordinary members as an opportunity for us to have our say.

The Labour Party is a broad church. This is not about “Left” or “Right” it’s about democracy. We can feed back through our CLP’s and Regional Board plus NPC Forum reps to get our ideas heard.

The format of the meeting will be simple and straightforward. No long speeches from the platform! The idea is for people to have their say whatever they think is relevant, from the economy to the NHS or democracy in the Party and how we select our MP’s. It’s up to you.

We will make notes of what is said and publish them. In addition we will make officers and representatives aware of the ideas we come up with.

The UK public deserves better than this band of millionaire desperadoes that sit in judgement over our lives around the Cabinet table.

As Neil Kinnock said before the 1983 General Election; “ I warn you not to be ordinary, I warn you not to be young, I warn you not to fall ill, I warn you not to get old (if Labour lose this election).”
